Introducing Docaide: Streamlining Patient-Doctor Communication
In 2020, the Docaide team began developing a device aimed at reducing the need for multiple doctor appointments by transferring vital patient data such as SPO2, heart rate, body temperature, and respiratory rate to a mobile app, which then shares the data with a doctor’s phone.
Early Development and Innovative Features
The initial version employed advanced max30102 sensors for data capture, transmitted via a physical connection to a computer using Arduino boards. The device also incorporated a gyroscope for tracking body movement, a microphone for detecting cough occurrences, as well as a battery and charging module. A patent application was submitted later that year.
Hardware Upgrades and Enhanced Portability
By early 2021, hardware improvements were made, including the SaBLE-x-R2 module for Bluetooth data transmission and larger internal batteries for increased portability. These enhancements improved the overall user experience and device functionality.
Strategic Partnerships and Market Expansion
A partnership with Salamat Asoo in late 2021 led to product sales and valuable insights into improving patient-doctor communication. This collaboration played a key role in bringing the product to market.
Software Improvements and Marketing Efforts
In 2023, software challenges prompted the separation of patient and doctor apps, improving data transmission and security. Marketing efforts were further bolstered through social media and website development to promote the device and its unique capabilities.
